U19S CRUISE TO VICTORY
Whilst most teams in their league had a blank week, Salford U19s Black Team enjoyed their day out to Wigan where they took on Winstanley college in this rearranged away fixture. Unfortunately, the intensity of the contest was somewhat muted, with the home side having had some difficulties with the number of players available for selection. Coach, Danny Barton, was however completely understanding of the problem.
“It was a little disappointing not to be against their top side, but these things happen in sport, and to be fair both teams were up for having a game, which, having got there, we were pleased about.
“Our lads showed a first class attitude throughout it all and got the job done. Keeping the opposition down to nil was a very encouraging factor in their performance, as were the ball handling skills and the way we moved the ball about on attack. They showed a great deal of class, which they need to build upon in next week’s match.”
