Two Cities Challenge 2016 announced

The annual Two Cities Challenge Varsity fixture has been announced for 2016.
The University of Salford will take on the their Manchester counterparts at the AJ Bell Stadium on the 25th April.
The fixture is one of most hotly anticipated events of the University sporting calendar and achieves good crowds each year.
Manchester are the current champions, having won last years event 32-12, with Salford having won the previous four times. They fixture has a histroy of being an open and high scoring affair, with boths teams aiming to entertain the crowd.
This years clash promises to be an entertaining one, as although Manchester are in the division above Salford, the four times champions claimed the title of league champions this season, clinching promotion in the process, as well as reaching the conference cup final.
The Salford Red Devils have been long time supporters of University rugby league, and the yearly event is a highlight in the clubs community calendar as the two sides battle it out for regional bragging rights.
