Name : Jermaine

Age : 15

Sport : Rugby

I have gained rugby skills and a chance to prove I can play for the academy from taking part in the sports academy.

I originally wasn’t planning on playing rugby until I joined the sports academy.

It has also gave me the opportunity to do 2 weeks work experience at the foundation.

I would like to develop my rugby skills and my overall sports knowledge, I am hoping to play for Salford’s academy before I finish the scheme therefore I can carry on working in a professional sporting environment such as the AJ Bell stadium.

Whilst being in the sports academy we have took part in physical activity sessions and BTEC level 2 theory lessons gaining sports knowledge throughout the scheme.

We have also been taken out on trips to places like Chill factor, Trafford centre (Laser Quest) and many more.

I mostly enjoyed going ‘Challenge 4 Change’ and ‘Jump Nation’

 

Neil Blackburn Education Manager says "Jermaine is a year 11 member of the Sports Academy and is in the second year of the programme. He is a model student and a very talented athlete, currently playing rugby for Langworthy Reds. He is currently being watched by Red Devils scouts with the hope that he will enter the Red Devils Player Pathway in 2016."
