SRDFoundation Support Haelo Launch Initiative
Yesterday (6th November) saw the launch of the new and exciting Haelo initiative; an exciting joint venture between Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Clinical Commissioning Group and collaborating partners, including the SRDFoundation, with the aim to improve population health and healthcare for Salford residents.
With further goals to improve health through action, measurement and evaluation; make Salford a world leading city in regards to health and providing a framework for other cities and showing the way forward; to deliver health improvement in partnership with local stakeholders; develop networks of self-organising local communities engaged in promoting health and wellbeing; and, to enable large scale change of healthcare systems across regions.
The launch event hosted by the Salford Royal NHS Trust took place at Salford Royal, with a number of partner organisations and local stakeholders in attendance. Beginning at 1pm, the afternoon scheduled a series of talks, forums and discussion groups, aimed at furthering the health debate in Salford and enabling better health practise in the region.
SRDFoundation Health Officer Danny Doherty, in attendance to discuss the Foundation’s health activity in Salford, was delighted to take the opportunity to both promote his own activity as well as glean further knowledge on improving the effectiveness of his healthcare initiatives.
Danny said, “As a proud Salfordian, it was a real privilege for me to attend to both talk about the Foundations health care initiatives, as well as meet and mingle with other health care professionals from both Salford and from around the world.
“To hear industry experts discuss different aspects of the health care debate in the region, as well as talk about best practise from around the world was not only fascinating but also beneficial to the Foundation’s own health care initiatives.
“With health initiatives being a cornerstone of Foundation activities, today was very helpful to us here. With Movember and Lung Cancer Awareness Month in full swing, as well as a blood drive in December, we will look to build upon our activity with the aims of contributing to the Haelo initiatives goals.”
