Red Devils support State of Mind week

The Salford Red Devils are proud to support the ‘State of Mind’ round this week, as we prepare to face Warrington Wolves.
State of Mind is a charity that uses sport to combat mental health issues and promote healthy mental wellbeing amongst sportsmen and women and supporters.
The Charity will be at the centre of this weeks Super League fixtures as the Salford Red Devils, alongside their fellow clubs will be sporting special ‘State of Mind’ warm up t-shirts.
State of Mind was founded in 2011, where it worked within Super League to provide support for those in the sport. Since then, SoM has developed into a large multi-national charity, working to benefit those within a number of different sports.
The Red Devils have been long term supporters of State of Mind, with the Salford Red Devils Foundation working tirelessly to promote positive mental health in the local community through their ‘Tackle Mental Health’ programme.
The Programme has helped people to access support regarding mental health, as well aiding participants in ways such as finding employment.
Going forwards, the Foundation are looking to increase their involvement with State of Mind, with plans in place for further long term mental health programme,
The Red Devils are also represented by Garreth Carvell (Head of Development) and Martin Gleeson (Assistant Coach) who are official ambassadors for the charity.
Speaking about the positive impact that the charity has had on the sport, Gleeson said he was pleased that the Red Devils have the opportunity to show their support for State of Mind;
“It’s a really important charity that carries out fantastic work, not just in our sport but also across a number of sports and countries, the world of sport can sometimes be a harsh environment and its crucial to have bodies like State of Mind in place to offer support.”
