Red Devils Community Day

Red Devils Community Day – Easter Monday

Easter Monday saw the big Super League clash between the Red Devils and Wigan Warriors in the afternoon, but there was plenty of rugby league taking place across the city leading up to this. Community Clubs from all over the North West descended on Salford to display the best of junior Rugby League talent.

A total of 38 teams from 22 clubs attended the festivals; with a wide range of age groups also in attendance. The Under 9’s were situated at the AJ Bell Stadium, Under 8’s, Under 14’s & Under 10’s attended Eccles RUFC and Under 13’s went to Folly Lane ARLFC to take part on the day.

More than 500 players aged between 8 and 14 took part across the 38 teams. An additional 1000 friends and family watched the junior drama unfold and over 1300 made the trip to the AJ Bell Stadium to watch the Red Devils first team edge out a thriller with rivals Wigan Warriors.

Not only did the teams engage in their respective festivals; they were then invited to take part in pre-match and half time festivities, which included a lap of honour where they were presented to the crowd
