Foundation to host Super Trophy at Ride to Rio Event

Foundation to host Super League Trophy at Ride to Rio event.

The Salford Red Devils Foundation will be hosting the First Utility Super League Trophy at the upcoming ‘Virtual Ride to Rio’ Charity Cycle Challenge.

The event, which takes place at the intu-Trafford Centre on the 29th and 30th of July, (Friday and Saturday) will give supporters the opportunity to have their photo taken with the famous trophy, as it takes pride of place in the ‘Orient’ food hall. The trophy will be on display between 12 and 4 on the Saturday.

The charity challenge is taking place in support of former Salford player Paul Highton, who is currently on an intrepid adventure, cycling from the Olympic Stadium in London, to the Olympic Stadium in Rio De Janeiro.

Paul and his team are raising money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, Rugby League Cares and the SRDF.

To help raise as much money as possible for these fantastic causes, the Foundation are giving you the opportunity to get involved. The Challenge will give people the chance to challenge themselves and their friends in a number of different virtual cycle challenges.

In further support of Highton and the team, the Foundation will be making a donation to the charities, and Foundation Director Mark Brocklehurst is delighted to be able to host his fundraising event, he said;

‘We’re very pleased to be able to support Highto and the team with this event, hopefully lots of people will get involved and we’ll raise some important money. Having the trophy will there will make it that extra bit special and its a great opportunity for people to see a famous piece of sporting silverware.”
