Foundation Employ latest member of Staff
SCRF are delighted to welcome the latest member of staff to the team this week. The arrival of Lee Adams heralds the start of our Lloyds TSB funded social inclusion project based in the Pendleton area of Salford. The project is all about providing more opportunities for local young people in the Pendleton area and surrounding wards.SCRF will work with GM Police and other local stakeholders to identify young people who will benefit from engaging with the scheme. Once identified SCRF will look to improve skill levels and ultimately help find work for local residents.
Prior to joining SCRF, Lee spent some time with Salford Community Leisure before going to work for Manchester United Foundation as Kickz Social Inclusion Manager. He has a BA (Hons) Youth Work and is a Qualified Project Manager with over 15 years of experience engaging young people to raise their aspirations inspire their potential and support their goals. Lee has lots of experience in the community work within some of the most disadvantaged areas in Salford, Trafford and Manchester he will be working with various partners such as GMP, IYSS, SCL and Local Secondary Schools initially working in the Pendleton Langworthy and Ordsall areas of Salford delivering targeted social inclusion initiatives with 14 – 25 year olds providing them with opportunities to engage in Sport, Health and Education in support with all the SCRF initiatives.
Lee added "as a passionate Salfordian im delighted to join SCRF to work on this programme. I cant wait to get started and am looking forward to making a real difference"
Hazel Blears, Labour MP for Salford and Eccles, said: “The Salford City Reds Foundation does some really valuable work in the community and it is fantastic to see this project up and running in Pendleton.
“It will give the young people involved a positive focus through sport and will also help to develop their skills in an enjoyable way
“I am sure the scheme will lead to many success stories.”
